Build the mental model required for serious process design. You will define customer outcomes and process boundaries, create a SIPOC view, organise work through process architecture, identify stakeholders and dependencies, and collect evidence about how work actually happens rather than relying only on procedures or assumptions.
Translate discovery evidence into clear process models. You will begin with disciplined flowcharting, then learn BPMN events, tasks, sequence flow, gateways, pools, lanes, message flows, decisions, parallel work, handoffs, exceptions, and hidden loops so the current state reflects real operational behaviour rather than only the happy path.
Move from mapping to diagnosis. You will distinguish value from waste, measure lead time and processing time, calculate process cycle efficiency, locate bottlenecks and queues, examine capacity constraints, quantify rework and variation, and test root-cause hypotheses before proposing solutions.
Build a balanced process measurement system that connects customer requirements with operational evidence. You will work with CTQs, KPIs, throughput, work in process, Little's Law, takt time, practical capacity, capacity cushion, quality, cost, service levels, baselines, targets, and decision-ready dashboards.
Turn verified current-state problems into a stronger future-state process. You will simplify before automating, redesign roles and handoffs, clarify decision rights, standardise work, build controls into the flow, create future-state BPMN, stress-test normal and exception scenarios, and complete a quantified Order-to-Cash redesign.
Convert the future-state design into an operating model people and systems can execute reliably. You will define business rules, decision logic, exception handling, case-management boundaries, risk controls, segregation of duties, service levels, queue priorities, escalation rules, standard work, and operational-readiness requirements.
Learn where automation genuinely improves process performance and where human judgement must remain. You will assess automation opportunities, design human-and-automation workflows, understand system integration and APIs, measure straight-through processing, build trustworthy event-log thinking, and use process mining to analyse variants and conformance.
Move from approved design into controlled implementation. You will build implementation roadmaps, manage dependencies, choose release strategies, design pilots, control rollout, assess stakeholder impact, support adoption, create SOPs and performance support, prepare go-live, manage hypercare, reduce transition backlogs, and establish stabilisation criteria.
Create the management system that keeps the process effective after implementation. You will define process ownership and decision rights, run KPI reviews, use PDCA improvement cycles, audit process and control performance, detect process drift, distinguish workarounds from improvements, and prioritise process investments across a wider portfolio.
Bring the complete process-design system together. You will test scalability, resilience, capacity shocks, system and supplier failures, process interfaces, shared data, digital process twins, alternative scenarios, released capacity, benefits realisation, ROI, and payback before completing the full end-to-end Order-to-Cash capstone.
